NAIROBI, August 4, 2025 – In a significant move to fortify Kenya’s crucial agricultural sector against climate volatility, Bengaluru-based Earth Intelligence leader SatSure has entered a strategic partnership with the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO). The collaboration aims to harness satellite data, AI analytics, and remote sensing to transform decision-making for policymakers, agribusinesses, and millions of smallholder farmers.
The memorandum of understanding represents a deepening commitment to data-driven resilience in a nation where agriculture employs over 60% of the workforce and contributes roughly one-third of GDP, yet remains acutely vulnerable to erratic rainfall and rising temperatures. By integrating SatSure’s advanced geospatial analytics platform with KALRO’s extensive on-ground research networks, the partnership seeks to deliver near real-time intelligence on crop health, soil conditions, yield forecasts, and optimal resource use.
“Bringing cutting-edge geospatial intelligence to Kenya’s agricultural landscape marks a significant step toward enabling data-driven policymaking and strengthening food security,” stated Dhruva Rajan, Chief Revenue Officer at SatSure.
For KALRO, Kenya’s premier agricultural research body, the alliance is a technological leap forward. “Harnessing satellite-based analytics allows us to better understand climate impacts, optimise resource utilisation, and empower farmers with precise information,” explained Salim Kinyimu, ICT Director at KALRO.
