As East Africa ramps up its clean energy transition, a global platform returns to Nairobi to unite innovation, investment, and policy for a sustainable future.

NAIROBI, Kenya – East Africa’s growing energy ambitions are set to take centre stage as Intersolar Africa 2026 returns to Nairobi on March 25–26, 2026, with a full-scale international exhibition and conference at the Sarit Expo Centre. The event marks a significant expansion following its successful summit debut in 2025 and promises to be a defining platform for accelerating the region’s clean energy transition.

More than 100 international and regional exhibitors are expected, showcasing cutting-edge innovations in photovoltaics (PV), energy storage, e-mobility, smart grids, and digital infrastructure—technologies that are increasingly vital for building a resilient and renewable energy system across the continent.

“East Africa is taking the crucial step from vision to implementation,” said Dr. Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Solar Promotion International GmbH.

“Intersolar Africa 2026 provides the ideal platform where technology, investment, and policy align. We create the space for partnerships that actively drive the energy transition in the region.”

Connecting innovation with impact

Positioned as Africa’s international exhibition and conference for solar and energy storage, Intersolar Africa 2026 will serve as a critical meeting point for global technology providers, local utilities, project developers, government agencies, investors, and clean energy startups.

The two-day program features a comprehensive exhibition, high-level international conference, and curated networking formats. Panels, keynotes, and technical sessions will offer insight into the latest developments, while the exhibition floor will spotlight market-ready innovations tailored to Africa’s specific energy needs.

Scaling momentum in East Africa

The inaugural Intersolar Africa summit in March 2025 laid the groundwork, attracting a broad cross-section of stakeholders from across the energy value chain. Backed by 20 sponsors, the summit drew strong participation from industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and financiers, signaling a clear appetite for a recurring, scalable platform.

With its expanded format, Intersolar Africa 2026 aims to translate that momentum into tangible outcomes—fostering cross-sector collaboration, policy dialogue, and investment mobilization.

A region ready for renewable growth

The spotlight on East Africa is timely. Countries across the region, including Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, are advancing ambitious electrification and decarbonization agendas. Kenya, in particular, already generates over 90% of its electricity from renewable sources—a mix of geothermal, hydro, wind, and solar. The energy transition underway in the region includes both grid-connected and off-grid innovations, ranging from solar home systems and mini-grids to large-scale PV and storage projects.

At the same time, rapid population growth and climate vulnerability are driving demand for resilient energy infrastructure that can support both urban and rural development. Intersolar Africa 2026 aims to meet this moment with solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and grounded in regional context.

Exhibit, sponsor, engage

Organizers have opened registration for exhibitors and sponsors, positioning Intersolar Africa 2026 as a prime opportunity to engage with key decision-makers, forge strategic partnerships, and establish or expand market presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing clean energy markets.

With its clear thematic focus, international scope, and regional relevance, the event is expected to be a milestone for Africa’s renewable energy ecosystem and a critical part of the global energy transition.
